"Sunrise in San Francisco"

I rarely miss a sunrise from my perch near Ina Coolbrith Park on Russian Hill. Pictured on this issue’s cover is a detail from the January 30, 2024 panoramic view included in my photo essay in this issue. I wait inside my apartment as the sky gradually lightens and run onto my balcony in bathrobe and slippers when the clouds look like they're on fire. The most vivid colors are visible just before the sun peeks above the East Bay hills and disappear when it does. I take lots of photos in hopes that one will capture the colorific magnificence and wondrous complement to the San Francisco skyline. I used an Apple iphone 14 to grab this shot.
